Inbound transportation

Inbound transportation processes are often not implemented completely due to high manual efforts, although being an important component for evaluations and strategic decisions. GPC provides a simple one-step-solution to post goods receipts and to create the subsequent documents (inbound delivery and shipment).

Even complex inbound scenario (e.g. central container receipt with subsequent distribution to several sites/plants) may be modeled and processed easily.

Knowledge on the full transportation volume (outbound and inbound) is the fundament for additional optimization. Higher transportation volume allows usually more favorable freight agreements. Synergy effects when combining inbound and outbound shipments for the same mean of transportation reduce the percentage of empty runs resulting in lower freight costs and reduction of energy consumption and pollutant emissions.

Processing inbound shipment supports the improvement of loading site planning (capacity restrictions).
