Simulation
Actual and historic data may be used to simulate and compare diverse scenarios.
GPC’s freight simulation provides a direct compare between freight cost quotations and freight cost agreements in use based on actual data. Differing influences may be considered:
- New calculation base/reference (weight, pallets, volume…)
- Differing calculation logic
- Deviant departures
- Pricing (calculation) date
Optional specific types of costs (e.g. demurrage) may be excludes to allow meaningful compares.
Using EZShip allows the integration of alternative transportation models (distribution centers/hubs, main leg models, optimization…) and/or different consolidation logics (date, zone…) into simulations.
A central shipment and packaging simulation enable an early, reliable statement on expected costs and needs of carriers and means of transportation for the transportation processes in queue.
